How does lack of physical activity cause heart disease?

Just how important is physical activity? 

Pretty important. We know that people who do not get regular exercise have about twice as many heart attacks as people who do. They also have higher cholesterol and triglyceride levels, higher blood pressure, and more excess weight than those who get regular aerobic exercise. No matter what the degree of overweight, sedentary people are more likely to develop Type 2 diabetes, and in a more severe form that is, their blood sugars will be higher.
